Highly experienced with major institutional-grade investments, Mr. Wojewodzki’s real estate career spans 40 years within both the institutional and private arenas. His background affords him with the disciplines necessary to successfully acquire, develop and manage complex, large scale projects and manage the portfolios into which those assets are invested.
On behalf of his personal interests and those of his clients, he has acquired through purchase or development, a portfolio of approximately 1.2 million SF of commercial property and 1,300 residential units, inclusive of a 330 unit residential tower within New York City’s Civic Center. He also advised on the privatization of a $1.7 billion real estate investment trust that owned 39,000 units in 140 apartment complexes, located throughout the southwest United States; that effort entailed formulation of offering price and the optimization of the capitalization via restructuring the preferred equity shares, a $500 million institutional equity raise, and the origination of $800 million of new debt.
Mr. Wojewodzki directed real estate acquisitions within the eastern United States on behalf of JP Morgan’s $2 billion real estate fund and its separate account clients, for which he completed $400 million of participating debt and equity investments. He also managed the New York Real Estate Fund, a $200 million partnership of JP Morgan and Silverstein Properties that was formed to opportunistically invest into assets within the New York metropolitan area.
Mr. Wojewodzki was a member of the Real Estate Investment Committee for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He was the firm’s Regional Investment Manager for all mortgage and equity investments for metropolitan New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, during which time he managed two joint venture development projects for mixed-use office, hotel and retail properties with costs exceeding $230 million, originated $525 million of mortgage and equity investments, and managed the region’s $1 billion mortgage portfolio. Mr. Wojewodzki has also held management positions within the real estate departments of AXA Equitable Life and JP Morgan Chase Bank.
